Subscription Box Review | Degustabox (August)

It’s August, and time for a peek inside another Degustabox!

What is it?
Degustabox is a way of trialing new products.  Every month your Degustabox includes a variety of 10 to 15 surprise products, many of which are completely new to the market.  They work with lots of recognised brands, as well and up and coming companies to supply their customers with the latest treats.

How does it work?
Subscribe online, and you will be sent a surprise box!  You can’t choose what’s in the box (but that’s half the fun of subscription boxes, right??)  You can earn points towards free boxes by encouraging others to purchase a subscription, and by giving your opinion on products in the box via the monthly survey you are sent.

Thoughts?
Once again, everything was packaged together really nicely (any item that could possibly leak was protected in individual bubble wrapped packaging) and I love that it’s just sealed with a single sticker that says “Open Me, Eat Me, Enjoy Me!”

Clipper Tea  is a well known and respected brand, and I was delighted to see this in my box this month.  This Lime & Ginger Green Tea was light, and delicious.

I’ve never tried bircher muesli, so it was great to see that Dorset Cereals version was included.  Bircher muesli is made by soaking oats overnight in juice and yoghurt.  This one had some yummy dried fruit and can be made in as little as 30 minutes.  You get a handy little scoop too.

I’m a huge fan of Fentimans, although had never tried their Sparkling Lime & Jasmine drink before.  It was zingy and fresh, just as you would expect.  The sparkle was subtle.

We often buy Geeta’s curry pastes, so these were a welcome addition!  These create gorgeous, authentic tasting curries.  The Mango Chutney was divine, and I cracked that open straight away!

Get More Vitamin Drinks provide a refreshing way to top up your vitamins – it’s made with spring water, natural flavours and no added sugar.  I didn’t expect this one to taste nice, but it really did.  Nice and refreshing, and it makes you feel good to know that you’re topping up your daily vitamin intake too!

The Mahou Cinco Estreallas reminded me of holidays; sipping lager by the pool!  A wonderfully mild lager.

The Nutripot is such a great idea!  Nutripots contain 50% of all of the 28 vitamins and minerals your body needs every day.  The 2 flavours supplied were Aromatic Thai Noodles and Moroccan Couscous – just add boiling water, wait 3 minutes and off you go!  Perfect for a quick lunch. Both were remarkably filling and tasty.

The chili, garlic and oregeno olives from Oloves didn’t hang around for long at all!  They don’t have any stones in them, which is a bonus.  Not too hot either!

The Rakusen’s snackers were perfect to dip into the mango chutney!  I love it when 2 products in the same box come together!  Crunchy, and its great that a gluten free version was supplied too.

I tend to shy away from Tabasco usually (i’m not a huge fan of hot!) but this Sweet & Sticky Barbecue Sauce & Marinade was a delightful surprise.  I used it was a marinade for some pork, and it was lovely!  What a treat.

I do love popcorn, and Willy Chase’s Fit Corn did not disappoint!  A very unique flavour – Smoky Bloody Mary – but I love that!  I love interesting flavours being introduced to me in forms you would not expect!

Overall, another great box from Degustabox.  I really love getting this box – you’re encouraged to try things that you wouldn’t normally try.  You often get money-off coupons in the box too, which is handy!

How much does it cost?
£12.99 per month incl. delivery.  No commitment, and you can cancel at any time.  Use code BLDEG15 and get a £7 discount on your first box!  That’s just £5.99 for a box full of yummy treats to try!
