Subscription Box Review | Takeaway Art

Do you love discovering new artists?  Then maybe Takeaway Art is the art subscription box for you…

What is it?
Takeaway Art is the Norfolk Art Subscription Box.  Each month, a new Norfolk artist is chosen and is showcased through Takeaway Art.  It’s a great way to show that art can be affordable and fun.  The fact that it’s a subscription box means that you don’t know what you’re going to get… it’s a surprise!

They also have an Art Swap; once you’ve received 9 boxes, you can join the Art Swap programme and send back one of the pieces you no longer want.  In return, you’ll get a new one for free!  A very nifty idea.

How does it work?
Sign up online before the 20th for the next month’s delivery.  You can follow Takeaway Art on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram if you want a sneak peek at who the featured artist is going to be.

What’s in the box?
The April box chose to champion Ella Goodwin, and included:

Exclusive 3D art piece “Katrina the Catrobat”
“Katrina the Catrobat” print

Thoughts?
This is unlike anything I’ve opened before.  You get the feeling that Takeaway Art really care about what they do, and helping new talent get discovered is their mission.  I love that.  Ella Goodwin’s designs are whimsical yet contemporary; she’s very talented indeed!  Discovering new talent is exciting and the 3D art piece is currently displayed proudly in my kitchen.  This art subscription box is a great way of adding to (or even starting!) a collection.

How much does it cost?
There are a variety of options to suit different budgets.  1 month rolling subscription (no commitment) is £28.50 per month, 3 month subscription (£25 per month), 6 month subscription (£24 per month) or 12 month subscription (£22 per month).  All plans include postage.
